While skiers and snowboarders are patiently waiting for winter, Leppien has been busy preparing for the season, and took some time out of his schedule to share what’s in store once the snow flies.
When the opportunity to head up the terrain park and halfpipe program arose this season, Leppien decided to put down his wrench and torch and get back to his true passion. Leppien has spent over 10 years working on different park crews, including his most recent stint at Boreal’s Woodward Tahoe park, before shifting his focus to ironwork projects ranging from bridge-building in the Midwest to assembling rocket launchers in Florida. Originally from Midland, Michigan, Leppien and assistant park manger Devon McCluskey have been painting, drilling, welding and planning in hopes of making the Ludlow resort even more of a freestyle destination this winter.
